OOC - Reboot Time!

Because my creative fly bit me in the arse and there's a new kind of story brewing in my head, I'm coming back to writing this character. However, my direction for writing him is different from before and thus, X is getting rebooted. While some old Nexus interactions and stories will carry over, much of it won't. Much apologies if that causes confusion.

I am not sure why I'm even trying anymore.

Signas got access to military files from other dimensions. I'm afraid to think how he did that - probably used his uber-CPU and everything. And he tried to use them against Captain America, who showed up on Sages and started acting like a shithead. Nearly branded the moron as an international terrorist, which'd mean he'd become our job. Me, hunting the bloody Captain America... Yeah, right. Like that's something I need.

The last several days are bothersome, in general... Fights, arguments, friends getting hurt, people hating on each other... Can't we just leave that all behind somehow?

...I think I need a break. Will go get one now.

Tired... So damn tired of it...

I wish this day would be a little more uneventful. Only one thing happened through it all, and that one thing was...

*sigh*

Sometimes, I start praying for at least one day to pass without any of my friends getting hurt, mentally or physically... I would ask for more, but since it seems to never happen... At least one would be enough.

...A tiring day. Mostly because of three incidents.

I got to ~~mock~~ discuss Forte's ~~incredibly stupid and ghey~~ unique armor and how it compares to Zero's Absolute Zero. An armor that is incredibly stupid, as well - and makes me feel good when I remember that my Ultimate Armor has nipple lasers and a tv-station on it's back.

...Oh, well. Chicks dig the nipple lasers.

After that, went to the Sanctuary. Ended up having a very good time in the hot springs... Specific details won't be mentioned, and no, I won't answer if you try to guess. Just because.

Also, Layer made it into the Nexus... And she's the one from my world, for a change. Never a bad thing. Of course, Douglas seems to be the last one to get in here, which is weird... But I'm sure it's just because he's plotting something.

Well, I should go get some rest now... Shutting down the datapad for a change, since I need some rest for a change.

So here I go. And... Layer, dear? I hope everything gets better for you.

Still have problems with new place to go, but I guess I'll worry about that later. Maybe will just go to Giga City starting with weekend, because Marino never responded to the last entry and that means she wants a nice surprise in a form of a Maverick Hunter at her doorstep.

Also, met another Emma Frost. Agreed to give her lessons on Ansatsuken - hopefully, it won't be too hard for her in the long run.

Got into another fight with the braindead nun from hell. She's getting annoying - and the way she throws the "servant of Lord" thing left and right like she's some demented girlscout really irks me. Promised to beat the shit out of her the next time she attempts to go for violence.

Life goes on. In a bit wanky manner, but it does.

Back from Africa. Still didn't calm down as much as I'd want to - shows by me being a selfish asshole lately. Should fix it somehow.

Still thinking of a quiet place to move to for a while - sadly, this whole week is working. Considering asking Signas to appoint myself to some remote region for this week, maybe a lot of work and silence would help me. If that doesn't work...

Resetting the counter on the datapad because I want to.

Decided to take a break off the Nexus, so left the Hunter HQ. Ended up in jungle of Africa - spent the last few days training in martial arts. Wasn't too bad - managed to calm down, pull myself together, start to looking out on a better side of life. Until I tried to look into the Nexus again, that is.

...Need more self-control. Much more of it. And need to get away somewhere. Preferably, somewhere with more reploids and less humans treating me like just another gadget.

Apparently, Alex Hayden aka Agent X knows me... And played those games about me and the rest of the group.

That's kinda... Nice. I mean, most of people who I've met before, either brushed off the game comments completely or assumed something else weird. Wade keeps confusing me with original Megaman, who fell off the radar of existance almost two centuries ago. This is the first time someone from the Marvelverse actually acknowledged my existance in their world like that.

...And the fact that it's Agent X, who is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel books, only pleases me more. I still hope that Taskmaster shows up, too.

The doors to X's quarters opened with a quiet, familiar hiss - and the reploid's helmet flew into the room, making a wide arc in the air and landing in the far corner of the room.

"Dammit..." - A quiet curse followed and X followed his headgear, walking into the room and as he looked at the palm of his hand. The injuries that he gained in the last adventure still didn't heal - and his hands were covered with rather nasty burns and wounds. The only things that kept them from bleeding were the bandages on both of his hands - and even those turned dark crimson by now.

As the door closed behind the blue-armored reploid, he approached the table and carefully untied the bandages to see the state of his wounds. Several drops of coolant dropped on the floor - and X grimaced slightly, observing the burns.

...Alia would give him hell if she'd see that - and that wasn't something X really wanted to think about.

Today was scary.

I got into a fight with a crazy vampire and hell knows who else, and I think I'm missing seven minutes of my memories. At least, I believe that something happened to me, but I can't just remember what. But then, maybe it's for the better.

Need to finally contact Alia and work out the problems with the Shadow Armor... Fix it's Weapon Copy ability, build new weaponry for it and all. On the other hand, it can wait... It's just a childish idea of mine... And Alia has enough job as it is already.

...Alright, my brain is starting to shut down. Off to rest with me. But before I do, here's an interesting thought for all of you, guys.

Is it me, or are reploids the only androids in the whole Nexus? Seriously, aside of ourselves, I only saw Ether. It's like in the whole multiverse, our universe is the only one with androids. I even started asking around about it, because I'm curious what are the androids like in other worlds.

It feels a little lonely, don't you think? :X

OOC Post

(( Alright, my first OOC post in this journal - and I have two news, good and bad.

First of all, I want to thank the player of Zero (zero_saber) for getting me a paid journal. I wanted one for X for a while, but couldn't get it because my card is blocked due to problems in a bank. That problem is finally dealt with, and I have a paid journal. Thank you very much, Ran. You rock.

The second reason for the post is worse, since I'm insulted with the actions of a certain player.

Today, on the Syrin's (waxwontbeenough) post, the mentioned character's player deleted several of my posts - including several completely non-offensive IC posts and an OOC explanation to her question about why my character acted toward hers the way he is. The reason to why she did that is beyond my understanding, since there were no attempts to stir up drama in there - I can even provide the posts, they're in my mailbox due to responses being mailed to me. I was never given an explanation on that, either.

Because I find that action extremely rude, I'll keep myself from interacting with her character from now on unless it's absolutely required... Or unless the player provides me with a good explanation on why she did that.

Note that I'm not attempting to start anything here - simply stating my OOC position on the whole situation. A normal IC situation that people, for some reason, start turning into hell knows what OOC.

I'm tired of it... Tired of it all.

Tired of being a hero against my will, fighting, killing, losing friends. Tired of this sinking feeling that pursues me everywhere I go. And most of all, I'm tired of letting it pull me down, deeper and deeper into oblivion. After all, I'm stronger than that.

But y'know? It's my own fault. My own fault for focusing on it so much, letting those thoughts occupy my head when I could be thinking of something more important. For example, how to keep my friends safe and happy. Things that are truly important to me.

So I'm dumping the angst, like I should've done long ago. It's much easier to not think about things for so long, to just act on your whim and do what you believe is right. When difficult issues will appear, I'll deal with them as I go. But no more things pulling me down... Not anymore.

And speaking of difficult issues - I'll be leaving soon, and won't be around for several days. There's an item I should find in the Mayan ruins, South America... An item that could really make a difference for one of the problems in the Nexus, so I really need it. I don't think it'll be too hard of a journey, but finding the item will be a bit hard... The energy reading is unusual, so it was hard to pinpoint it - I'll have to search the whole ruins.

But I'll be lonely and bored like hell if I go there alone, so... Anyone wants to go with me? Please, guys? I promise it'll be fun. We'll get to camp in the fresh air, maybe gather some cool stuff left around there, and look for artifacts of long forgotten gods... Really, it'll be kickass!

Alright... Emma? I've got two news for you. One is pretty good, but the other one is frigging bad.

Let's start with the bad one. I literally risked my life in order to get the analysis of those black worms that Jack left. The one who I had to ask to do the job is... *ahem* A friend of mine, and she was pissed that I didn't visit her in years. In other words, you owe me big time now. *grin*

As for the good news - the analysis is here. What can I say... Those worms are a strange thing. From the outside, they're like simple organic matter - seemingly, nothing worth bothering with... But actually, said organic matter projects a huge ammount of energy. It is like the matter is extremely concentrated energy itself, if that would make any scientific sense. But considering that sense is the last thing we should apply here, I'd say that works.

That isn't the interesting thing, though. See, those worms? They have multiple energy readings. Think of it as if you're picking up multiple genetic codes from the same thing - the thing transmits at least several dozen of various energy samples, most of them completely different from one another. It's as if the worm is several dozen beings at once.

I'm still not completely sure on what to make out of it... But now I'm sure of one thing - the guy's supernatural. There's no way something like that could be created by a mutant, no matter how powerful.

And now that I'm done with this little report, I'm off to get some rest. See you.

A soft hiss echoed across the room as the entrance to X's appartment opened, letting him in. Soft sounds of footsteps followed, blue ceramic boots hitting the floor as the appartment's owner walked in, and then the hiss repeated itself, the door closing behind him. It didn't seem to bother him, though - calmly, almost mechanically, the blue-armored reploid walked into the main room. He didn't bother turning the light on - instead, he let the room stay dark and simply dropped himself into the nearby armchair. Almost mechanically, his hands slipped his helmet off his head, letting the raven-black hair get a bit of air for the first time in several days - before letting the blue piece of armor fall to the floor with a noticable sound.

Once the helmet was out of the way, X leaned back in the armchair, his hands falling limp at his sides and his gaze directed at an empty spot somewhere on the floor. It seemed as if every last bit of strength left the reploid's body - and now, laying back in the chair, he resembled a limp doll - even the usual spark in his emerald-green eyes seemed to have left.

Deep inside, X knew that he didn't have the time to be like this. He had to check if Emma was at home and if she was alright... Check on all his friends in the Nexus... See if the Resistance needed his help if everything else was out of the way. But for now, he didn't have the strength to do this. For now, all he wanted to do is stay like this for a little time, away from the world and all the problems that came along with it.

At least this way, he could mourn without showing the world this weak side of himself.

Emma, sorry... I'll have to leave and won't show up for several days. An emergency call, and the HQ assigned me to the mission. It's my job and if I won't be there, people will get hurt - so I hope you understand.

Until then, you're free to use my appartment as you please - as long as it still stands in the end. I worked around with the digipad, so the nanomachines should prepare better coffee than before now. Also, there's a small package on the table in the main room - it contains the lightsaber I promised to get you. White, the blade slightly longer than medium. Please, be careful with it - I don't want you to get hurt while testing the weapon.

Sure, you disabled the fangirls - but at what cost? Nadezhda passed out from exhaustion. Astray is busy rebuilding the city. Max is busy with her oath to you, and Syrin now sides with the fangirls. Leela is so stressed that it's painful to look at her. Emma is the only one who didn't suffer from the fangirl attack - instead, she was attacked by some sicko in her appartment. An attack I could've prevented if I'd be there for her, instead of fixing the damage you have dealt.

I'm currently going to the laboratory - going to take an analysis of what me and Nadezhda found in Emma's appartment, so we can find the freak that did it to her. Should take several hours - by that time, maybe Nadezhda'll come to her sense and explain what she scryed up in Emma's appartment. Hopefully, I'll manage to make it home before Emma wakes up and configure the nanomachines to recolor her room into something friendlier than white, as well as make sure she has everything she needs.

I'll find the bastard who did this. Find him and make sure he's not hurting anyone ever again.

A soft sound of a sliding door echoed across the room, before a soft light broke out of the doorway, lighting up. The room was a simple one, with white colors dominating the walls and furniture. The furniture was already in place, with the setup of a simple bedroom - a bed, a night table and a simple closet in the wall. Other than that, it seemed as if noone got to design the room yet - everything was white and as simply as possible.

Slowly, so he wouldn't wake her up, X carried Emma into the room. He walked up to the bed and carefuly put his friend on the bed, moving the blanket over her to keep her warm. Once ensured that she's been made comfortable, he sat down on the corner of the bed and opened the bottle with the gel that Leela gave him - and gently, so he wouldn't disturb her, applied the gel to the bruises on the woman's neck. Once he was done, he set the bottle on the night table, stood up and walked up to the door.

"Goodnight, Emma." - X whispered, before stepping out of the room and letting the door close behind him. Next stop was the laboratory. Surely, they'd manage to pick up something from that bouquette he picked up in her appartment.
